Downer VIC Pipelines team are seeking to build an additional crew to meet the increased volume of work for our Yarra Valley Water contract. To help facilitate the new crew, we require an experienced Supporting Hand for the construction crew. This permanent full time position will be based in Bayswater, Melbourne and report to the Operations Supervisor.

Works are generally Monday to Friday with the occasional night or weekend shift, you will be delivering multiple water main renewal projects in to meet the expectations and standards of both Yarra Valley Water and Downer.

Be able to perform basic tasks/general labouring as requested

• Preparing & cleaning a job site
• Loading & delivering materials or equipment ·
• Use a variety of tools and machines such as power drills, saws, pressure washers, AVDD’s and pipe locating equipment (once trained & competency has been verified
• Set up and take down fencing, barriers and other temporary structures ·
• Perform manual labour tasks (e.g. digging and threaded pipework connections)
• Carry out daily pre start and unskilled maintenance on all company equipment and hired equipment.

• Light Rigid (LR) Truck driver licence
• Complete Asbestos awareness course and work safely, effectively and efficiently when working to remove asbestos
• Obtain First Aid Certificate Level 2 plus CPR
