Latrobe City Council’s Active and Liveable Communities team works with the local community to plan and develop social policies that build capacity, resilience and empower all of our residents.

Our Aboriginal Community Connector will play a key role in supporting reconciliation and sustainable positive change for our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community by being the strategic link between Council and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community organisations, community groups, elders and businesses.

You will lead a wide range of activities from developing and implementing a range of initiatives responsive to community needs, exploring funding and grant opportunities, participating in networks and supporting the Braiakaulung Advisory Committee.

Key to your success in this role will be your experience or understanding of planning, implementing and evaluating community engagement events with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and ability to communicate in a positive and respectful manner.

This position is only open to applicants who identify as Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander.
