JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Client Manager you will have a portfolio of our clients who are relying on you for your accounting expertise, analytical input and understanding of their business. You will be integral to ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of our accounting and operational finance services by overseeing the data-entry, and ensuring its accuracy.

Your role will consist of:

  • ensuring the quality and timely delivery of bookkeeping & accounting services, by overseeing the work of a team of bookkeepers and analysts;
  • Maintain a strong relationship with a portfolio of clients by managing queries, questions and assisting with problem solving;
  • Prepare and confidently deliver cash flow, budgeting and other management reporting tools to your portfolio of clients;
  • Critically analyse the financial performance and position of your clients' business, and discuss your findings with them;
  • Coach and mentor bookkeeping team members;
  • Improvement of and ensuring adherence to internal processes and procedures;
  • Undertaking accounting and bookkeeping work when required (during onboarding phase of each client).


The Client Manager role isn't for everyone. We need people who:

  • Are happy to go deep in a Xero file and do accounting work; but
  • Are also analytical and love thinking about business and business models and talking to clients about how to improve their business.

Often we find people who are good are one of the items above and not the other. We're looking for a special kind of person who can confidently do both.

Requirements

You will also possess the following:

  • 4+ years experience in Public Practice accounting, managing teams, budgets and client delivery;
  • Comprehensive understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, payroll and GST;
  • CPA or CA (desired);
  • Experience with using Xero, ReceiptBank QuickBooks Online and other cloud accounting software packages;
  • An analytical and critical thinking mindset;
  • A solid working knowledge of budgets, cash flow principles and management reporting;
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast moving environment;
