JOB DESCRIPTION

TP Human Capital is currently recruiting for a passionate and innovative Program Manager for a newly funded initiative with our Townsville based client. The Program Manager will be a dynamic leader who can work in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders towards community led systems change. The program itself looks to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to be well prepared for school by supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander pregnant women, and the children from birth to school age.

The Role:

  • To build the capacity of networks and community organisations to respond, providing information, resources and training and the development of referral pathways and practical support.
  • Develop a positive supportive relationship with key workers in the areas of health, education and the family support sector
  • Cultivate excellent working relationships with senior community leaders in a way that can inspire collective action
  • Develop strong working relationships across stakeholders, including community, government, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander relevant non-government organisations, philanthropy, businesses, politicians, and corporates
  • Building and maintaining relationships with community partners
  • Enhance connections between organisation and the specified services in the region
  • Attend local integrated/network
  • Consider and discuss issues pertaining to the development of the role, specifically in terms of sector development
  • Use learnings from the role to refine the program and develop practical strategies
  • Along with work colleagues, identify emerging trends
  • Providing direction and support to partner organisations in aligning their work to the common agenda
  • Developing advocacy priorities and coordinating the supporting activities of partners

The Person

  • An understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities in a way that fosters mutual respect
  • Existing relationships with a range of stakeholders in the local and regional area
  • Tertiary qualifications and significant experience in education, community development, social services, health, and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Demonstrated experience in program management; to design, implement, manage and monitor using a data driven approach
  • Proven ability to build capacity and think strategically
  • Ability to generate concise and accurate reports, briefing papers and other documentation
