About the role:

Reporting to the Communications Planning Manager, the Social Media Manager is responsible for developing the ‘big picture’ for Ampol’s social media strategy.

The role includes an equal share of strategic development, content planning and development, marketing campaign support, media planning and recommendation, and performance reporting.

The role is also highly visible and end-to-end with delivery and front-line execution of the Social media strategy for the Foodary and Ampol social media channels.

  • Development of the brand and channel Social Media strategy, including the overarching approach, objectives, channel strategy, tone of voice and hashtag strategy
  • Content planning and calendar development for social media channels including but not limited Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube
  • Content development and implementation with key stakeholders including Merchandise, Corporate, Brand and Communications and Human Resources
  • Management of always on social media marketing budget, crisis, post campaign reporting, analysis and recommendations

To be successful you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in Social Media Marketing for an ASX top 100 company or an Agency partner
  • Developed social media strategies, campaign planning and usage of management tools, i.e. Facebook Business Manager
  • Developed content and production together with briefing and managing agencies and other third parties
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social media listening/monitoring tools, such as Social Sprout
  • Experience with crisis management in a social media capacity
  • PR experience would be advantageous
  • Impeccable attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and good prioritisation and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to meet critical timelines by being highly organised whether working autonomously or with a team
  • Availability for start date of 10 May 2021
