- Based in Operational Finance at the Mawson Lakes Campus
- Full-time, fixed term contract until 8 April 2022
- Salary range: $99,510 - $112,290 per annum (plus superannuation)
About The Role
Reporting to the Director: Operational Finance this position will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of finance strategies and activities and providing high level expert advice to key stakeholders and staff within the University. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the identification, development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and managing a range of finance activities for specific business areas.
The Manager: Operational Finance manages a team of four which include finance specialists and administrative staff.

Core Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and recommendations in the development and implementation of finance strategies and the analysis of financial information
- Develop quarterly forecasts, annual budget, Medium Term Finance Plan and other specialised financial management and analyses
- Oversee the development of revenue generation forecasts
- Oversee the financial management of research projects, including monitoring expenditure and the deferral of revenue
- Liaise with Auditor-General’s office as required and action recommendations
- Undergraduate qualifications, together with active membership of a professional accounting body
- Experience working in a senior accounting position involving the development of forecasts, budgets and financial plans
- Experience in applying financial and accrual accounting standards, structures, principles and practices
- Financial analysis and reporting skills and experience in the provision of financial advice and recommendations to senior executives
- Experience in using a finance software package, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
