Full Job Description
A challenging opportunity is available for an active, strategic, well-networked Manager with proven business acumen and excellent communication skills to work with a small team to play a pivotal role in advancing Western Australia’s Cyber Security Industry.
The Joondalup Innovation Hub, home to the WA AustCyber Innovation Hub (WAACIH), drives innovation, productivity and competitiveness, as well as building capability to create jobs and diversification in the economy. The Hub focusses on areas of competitive strength and strategic priorities.
As Manager, you and the team will work with start-ups, small to medium enterprises, larger Industry, Government and Academia. You will report to the WAACIH Industry Advisory Board, and others, as you grow Western Australia’s cyber security industry.
Key responsibilities will include:
Implementing and driving a strategic and creative vision for Western Australia’s cyber security industry
Leading and coordinating an innovation hub, including the management of work plans, projects, staff, budgets, evaluation and reporting
Stakeholder management across the private, public and academic sectors to optimise the local and national cyber security ecosystem
Working with digital leaders to enhance WA’s cyber security research, development and commercialisation
Identifying and pursuing new relationships to attract investment and expand industry development to create jobs
Representing Western Australia at cyber security conferences, and in meetings with industry leaders, Federal and State/Territory agencies, universities and research institutes
Take smart risks and explore new opportunities for connectivity and collaboration
Key criteria
A proven ability to set positive direction, manage resources (funds, people and time) and evaluate outcomes
Professional experience leading complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams
A clear understanding of cyber security concepts, threats, vulnerabilities and the economic growth opportunities in the industry
Outstanding communication skills including being a persuasive negotiator with high emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, able to credibly engage with the most senior levels of government, academia and industry
Stakeholder management, including working with stakeholders from different backgrounds with often competing agendas
Must be eligible to obtain a Commonwealth Government Security Clearance
This is a leadership role, and with the support of a small team, you will work closely with and be supported by specialist staff in appropriate areas of the University.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full time, fixed term position attracts remuneration of $150,000 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
