JOB DESCRIPTION

Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS) is a dynamic educational governing authority and service provider to Catholic primary, secondary and special schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne. More than 550 staff work across the head office in East Melbourne and four regional offices in the North, East, South and West. MACS provides services to schools in areas as diverse as Curriculum, RE, Leadership, Finance, ICT, Marketing and Communications, Student Wellbeing, Legal, Planning and Industrial Relations. MACS is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Based at James Goold House in East Melbourne, the Learning Consultant, Mathematics will demonstrate a commitment to the mission of Catholic education and a capacity to realise that mission in the context of the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) strategy which promotes strong, shared leadership and a culture of creativity and innovative practice.

The Key objectives of this position include the ability to:

  1. Provide advice to the Team Leader, Mathematics and the Manager, Improved Learning Outcomes, on the curriculum, assessment, reporting and professional learning needs of schools.
  2. Implement cohesive and integrated professional learning services in Mathematics that are research and evidence based.
  3. Build the capacity of teachers and school leaders to improve student performance through quality teaching and Catholic curriculum design.
  4. Build the capacity of teachers and school leaders to enact models for ensuring mathematical learning opportunities for all students.

This is an ongoing Learning Consultant position. Salary for this position is between $86,370 (T2/1) and $108,003 (T2/6) in accordance with the Teacher Salaries as set out in the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2018 (VCEMEA), and is based upon teaching qualifications and experience. In addition to this, a school adviser allowance which is dependent upon years of service will be applicable (categorised by either A: $8,817 or B: $11,921). Superannuation according to them Superannuation Guarantee Legislation will be in addition to the above. School Term holidays as well as all other conditions as per the VCEMEA will apply to this position.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Applicants must have:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Education/Teaching.
  2. Current registration with the Victorian Institution of Teaching (VIT).
  3. Broad and varied experience in teaching in Catholic schools and other relevant settings.
  4. Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
  5. Post graduate or further qualifications in education (desirable).
  6. Understanding of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd policies and priorities for school improvement (desirable).

Applicants must also hold full unrestricted working rights for Australia to be considered for this role.
