About the Role

The Curator and Collections Management Officer is responsible for the delivery of a range of curatorial, exhibition and collections management outcomes. Critical to the role is the ability to engage community in the development of contemporary arts practice, an understanding of the local arts history and current practices, strong curatorial vision and a well-developed collections management skill set. For this contract, experience specifically in Collections Management will be highly regarded.


  • Utilise high level creativity and innovation in the curation of the Nillumbik Shire Art Collection
  • Grow the prominence of the Nillumbik Shire Art Collection through dynamic management of its exhibition program and acquisitions
  • Develop and deliver conceptually strong exhibition outcomes in line with industry best practise that drive community connection and industry prominence
  • Effective Collections Management of Councils Nillumbik Shire Art Collection
  • Develop, grow and maintain Council's Collection Management System

Skills and experience

  • Technical skills in the physical setup and de-install of exhibitions
