JOB DESCRIPTION
Sneaky Keys is on a mission and we need a young Keys (piano) teacher who has an understanding of teaching composition and the technologies used within.
Sneaky Keys is a music school that specialises in group music education for kids.
We teach Singing, Keys (Piano), and Creators (Composition) to kids aged 4-12 years old.
The school is located in Northbridge (North Sydney area) and our focus in the next 12 – 18 months is to increase the number of students at this location, as well as scouting and opening further locations.
We’ve been running for 5 years and are developing a strong brand presence.
As a team, we pride ourselves on being very approachable, welcoming and interesting. We like to think outside the box when it comes to music education.
Initially, the role will be between 12-15 hours per week, with the opportunity of a more permanent position for the right person.
The right person will be Sydney based who can travel to our Northbridge location.
Requirements
The role requires:
- Strong interest in teaching music to children (group teaching experience preferred)
- Great capability and understanding of piano performance in contemporary genres (jazz/blues/soul/pop/hip-hop influences very welcome!)
- Ability and interest in teaching Composition (melody writing, making beats in GarageBand, recording and mixing)
- Ability to sing solfege (do re mi…) for teaching purposes (for pitch recognition not to teach singing itself)
- Bonus but not required - ability and confidence in creating backing tracks and arranging piano music scores for cover songs.

- Confident in speaking with parents and making them feel welcome
- Punctual and well prepared to teach (lesson plans ready to go in advance)
This role is a great fit for a Uni student studying music or a sound production-related course, or a recent graduate looking for work in the music education industry.
