Amana Living is one of the largest Aged Care providers in Western Australia and is a dynamic, people focused organisation, dedicated to delivering exceptional care and services. We offer a broad range of services, including residential care facilities, transition care programs, retirement living villages, home care, day care, respite, and dementia specific services.

Reporting to the CFO, the Strategy Manager is a hands-on role which is integral to the development of Amana Living’s strategy and achievement of the underpinning strategic initiatives. The role is responsible for the ongoing development, coordination and refinement of the overall corporate strategy and business planning process to maximise value creation.

A high-profile leader, the role provides thought leadership, forecasting and guidance to harness existing and new opportunities which align with Amana Living’s mission and long-term strategic objectives. To do this, the role maintains high awareness of the industry, existing and emerging markets, and relevant business models.

The Strategy Manager plays an active role in maintaining Amana Living’s Philosophy of Care and in living the 3Rs culture.


Responsible for the day to day leadership and management of the strategy and policy function you will:

  • Develop and manage Amana Living’s framework and processes for strategy development, monitoring and reporting.
  • Direct and oversee all research and analysis to support strategic planning processes.
  • Monitor political, legislative, regulatory, social and economic circumstances that impact the industry and the organisation in order to provide robust strategic, commercial and policy advice.
  • Support the Leadership Team and Board on matters as required.
  • Proactively identify long-term opportunities and implications for Amana Living based on emerging global trends (customer, markets, technologies, political, environmental and social trends)
  • Lead the development and support the implementation of initiatives which grow the value of Amana Living, including but not limited M&A activity.
  • Develop and manage Amana Living’s business planning process which is informed by the strategic plan and appropriately aligned with Amana Living’s budget cycle.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term policy positions.
  • Lead and motivate cross functional teams to deliver key strategic outcomes.
  • Build and sustain the capability of the Strategy & Policy team.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws consistent with Amana Living’s regulatory compliance policy and organisational values.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Extensive and broad strategic planning and corporate performance improvement experience and a deep understanding of their interactions with the overall corporate strategy and performance.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business, Management or related fields.
  • Experience working in a complex regulatory environment, strategy consulting or aged care or healthcare industries preferred, but not essential.
  • Strong people management skills, including the ability to lead through change.
  • Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information to a diverse audience.
  • Strong analytical and coordination skills, with the tenacity to deliver ideas to completion
  • The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance Certificate.
