Do work that makes a difference

Opportunity for an experienced Manager to oversee the direction of an audit area, while leading and developing individuals and teams to achieve goals and deliver RBA outcomes. You will provide independent and objective advice and deliver audit services that contribute to the Bank's strategic goals and develop client relationships.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, execute and lead audit teams (and oversee teams led by others) to complete comprehensive audits on time, to high standards and ensure KPIs are met.
  • Participate in audits, as required, and increase the capability of others by undertaking and demonstrating the completion of complex and difficult audit tasks.
  • Anticipate issues and implications of changes in audits in your portfolio and others.
  • Ensure engagement scopes have appropriate risk coverage and SME input, deliverables are high quality and provide insights based on sound analysis, ensure staff exercise due professional care in undertaking engagements.
  • Manage internal and external relationships and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders; clients and assist Audit's senior management team with business engagement and relationship management for the allocated portfolio of departments.

In line with the Bank’s vision to be a world-leading central bank, Audit is similarly aspiring to deliver world class services to the Audit Committee and Executive team. As part of this Audit is undertaking a reset with a substantial uplift in its focus on DA, develop and roll out of how Audit might influence the Bank’s risk culture and provide assurance over the Bank’s strategic initiatives.

Audit is responsible for conducting independent appraisals of the Reserve Bank's activities, functions and operations to ensure that an adequate framework of internal controls has been established and is operating effectively.

As a strategic leader you will create a RBA values aligned culture, enabling an environment for high levels of employee engagement and achievement. Contribute to the broader strategic direction and leadership of Audit, sharing accountability with other leaders for overall performance of deliverables and outcomes within a strong governance framework.

Your background

To be successful in this critical role you will possess;

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in IS, data science, business, finance or related disciplines.
  • Membership of a professional auditing institute or body (e.g. IIA or ISACA)
  • Advanced knowledge of risk management frameworks and enterprise-wide risks.
  • Extensive experience in internal and/or external auditing underpinned by data analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience leading small to large teams undertaking complex audits who exercise independence in their work, as well as implementing strategy.
  • Exposure to and the capability to handle sensitive and confidential information is essential.
