Position title: Business Development Manager - Civil / Construction / Concrete - Sales
Contract Estimation Duration: Perm - Immediate Start
Company Type / Size: Tier 3 - Commercial / Civil
Location: Western Suburbs - Sydney. Interstate travel may be required
Salary / Rate: $150K - $180K (DOE - Neg)
Purpose of this position:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for fostering new business relationships and managing existing client relationships for the purpose of increasing revenue opportunities aligned to our corporate strategic objectives. The role will also be responsible to initiate new sales strategies for improving opportunities of winning projects including a technical sales approach to solve some of our client's challenges. Using the CRM tools as a foundation, this role will be responsible for administering and managing the pipeline of projects and keeping track on how they progress through the sales cycle while aligning to agreed KPI'. The BDM is also required to manage the sales employees and administer the external sales contracts that manage our distribution and storage of our product range.

General Requirements:

  • Demonstrated technical sales experience in civil infrastructure.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working either in a technical business development role or in a client facing role for a major civil infrastructure company.
  • Demonstrate a solid network of industry contacts that has been acquired and skills to be able to acquire new clients
  • A track record in complex solution selling in a B2B environment
  • Experience in Technical Sales techniques
  • Attention to detail, commitment to quality, results-driven and customer focused
  • You will be a self-starter and motivated by establishing contacts
  • Experience in managing a small team
  • Demonstrated professional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM's
  • Have a collaborative style that will build strong relations
  • Hands on and dynamic individual

    Technical Scope:
     Develop and execute sales business strategies and plans ensuring agreed financial and non-financial objectives are met
     Grow revenue in designated sectors and product ranges to the agreed targets
     Accountable for business development P&L and forecasts
     As a trusted advisor, partner with clients and prospects to solve problems by developing innovative tailored sales solutions
     Proactively review current market intelligence together with CRM business analytics to underpin the company strategy
     Attend site visits, client meetings and collaborate with the Estimating team

    Education:
     Civil Engineering Degree (Mandatory) or
     Dual Business and Civil Engineering Degree
     Demonstrated technical experience in civil infrastructure. (Preferred)
