Social Work
Grade 2- 0.8EFT until August 2021- Alfred Health
Fixed Term- Part Time
A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced Social worker to work within Alfred Health. This role will encompass various clinical units within Alfred Health and may include working across sites. The role will require you to be part of a flexible team who collaborate to provide a holistic approach to service delivery. This clinical role provides an opportunity to showcase your skills in working with people from a range of diverse backgrounds as well as completing complex psycho-social assessments and supporting complex discharge plans. You will have demonstrated prior experience in managing a complex clinical caseload and will have sound knowledge in the NDIS, Child protection and skills in grief and loss counselling. You will also need to have a sound understanding of supporting patients experiencing family violence. You may be required to work in any of the units within Alfred Health in either our Acute site at The Alfred or our Sub Acute site at Caulfield Hospital.
The Role:
The role will involve providing comprehensive psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, adjustment counselling, therapy, case planning, family work, community liaison, networking and referral to external stakeholders and discharge planning.
The successful applicant will need to contribute to quality improvement and research activities and provide staff and student supervision. A sound understanding of hospital discharge planning processes will be essential to this role.
Skills
- Applicants must hold a Bachelor Degree or Qualifying Masters in Social Work
- Applicants must have an understanding of the psychosocial issues associated within a hospital setting
- Applicants will need to have had current experience in working within a hospital setting
