This exciting role requires you to work hand in hand with the Marketing & Sales teams in prospecting and generating high quality leads across numerous industries, with a goal to pass off scheduled meetings with sales reps and help contribute to the close of business. As a Business Development Representative (BDR) you will have an amazing opportunity to be part of the 'engine room' for generating business for the entire sales team. Success within the BDR team will give you the opportunity to progress into a great career in sales.

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting and taking queries from potential clients with the overall goal of generating & maturing leads to be passed off to sales
  • Screening and qualifying potential business through cold calling, emails & LinkedIn
  • Monitoring online forum to answer any customer queries
  • Identifying and overcoming objections whilst addressing business pain points through high activity
  • Effective use of Salesforce and in-house CRM to manage leads and data
  • Ability to think outside the square to generate your own leads
  • Speaking directly with end customers/prospects and articulating the benefits of the Mimecast platform through marketing campaigns
  • Attending marketing events (road shows, conferences) to build meaningful relationships and scope potential opportunities

Qualifications

  • Previous sales or lead gen experience will be looked upon favorably
  • Prior experience in a phone based role
