As the business reaches its next level of maturity, investment in tools and processes to support staff and customers along the journey is front of mind. We are seeking a talented, dynamic Data Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.


The Role

In this role you will be responsible for designing and building data infrastructure and tooling that empower data producers and consumers. Your role will include:

  • Design, build, test and maintain data infrastructure, including cloud infrastructure, existing software, and custom code, with a focus on quality and security
  • Create and maintain new tools, features or patterns to enable product teams and data consumers to be more self-sufficient and effective
  • Enhance and streamline existing data sourcing patterns
  • Contribute to direction of the platform, including improved real-time capabilities
  • Maintain a holistic view of data processes and simplify when possible
  • Continue to automate end-to-end deployment and running of pipelines and platform components
  • Identify gaps and opportunities to improve platform coverage and performance
  • Align architecture with business requirements and technical best practice


About You

  • Strong previous experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong understanding of data structures
  • Technical skills with Python, Spark, PyUnit, and Kafka or AWS Kinesis
  • Strong AWS experience including CloudFormation, S3, ECS, Lambda, SQS, IAM, KMS, DynamoDB, Glue, Athena
  • Strong understanding of data security & best practices
  • Strong skills with SQL and queries including optimisation, and technologies such as Elasticsearch or Splunk
  • Solid Agile experience, and excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
