Ambulance Victoria's Operational Logistics Department is currently seeking applications from suitably experienced Logistics Support Officers (LSOs) to form a casual pool of resources. LSOs undertake Support Centre and logistics support, maintaining the Logistic Support Locker Network, vehicle and equipment logistics including the relocation of vehicles. You will be required to exchange components to assist in the repair of operational equipment.

The casual staff in this area may work at any of the AV Support Centres as per the roster from Monday to Friday. Hours of work may fall between the hours of 6.30am and 6.00pm however on occasions reasonable overtime may be required.

About the role

Reporting to the Fleet Maintenance Coordinator, the responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing vehicles for operational use including cleaning and restocking medical equipment
  • Supporting the requirements for the Equipment Compliance Program
  • Conducting vehicle relocations and changeovers based on Fleet and Equipment Service Desk information
  • Ensuring assets are monitored and tracked, including stocktaking

It is a requirement that you are able to work at any one of five (5) Support Centres in Metropolitan Melbourne as needed. These are located in South Melbourne, Nunawading, Thomastown, Carrum Downs and Sunshine West.

About you

To be considered for the casual pool of LSOs, you will need to be a competent user of Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word, Excel and Outlook, and also experienced in working in a comparative fleet or logistics environment. Your strong organisational skills, with an emphasis on working efficiently within critical time lines, will be looked on favourably. You will possess a strong commitment to customer service and demonstrate solid interpersonal and influencing skills. The ideal candidates will be carrying out vehicle cleaning and restocking medical equipment. You will possess a current full Victorian Drivers Licence. A Medium Rigid license would be an advantage.

Casual Logistics Support Officers will receive $38.88 per hour plus applicable loadings.
