The purpose of this position of the Communications Manager is to oversee and lead all aspects of Communication strategy, planning and operations for QBCC. This will involve designing and implementing strategies and tactics to raise awareness of the QBCC, provide impactful education and communication solutions to reach new and existing target audiences across online and offline channels and to deliver strategies to encourage digital channel uptake with customers.

Key outcomes/Accountabilities

The aim of this role is to:

Lead, manage and deliver end to end communication activities for the organisation, including strategic planning, implementation, monitoring, tracking and optimisation.
Determine the strategic communication approach and calendar that will assist in driving organizational goals.
Oversee the creation of marketing and communications collateral to ensure that it is consistent with the QBCC brand including website, social media, fact sheets, speeches, email and video materials.
Lead and implement the digital channel strategy and customer experience approach to drive customer self-service and digital channel usage.
Develop and implement policies and systems to strategically manage organisational communication activities.
Provide leadership, direction and support to a team of communication specialists in order to deliver organisational outcomes and to build out capability.
Establish and maintain strategic relationships, alliances and networks with key internal and external stakeholders that enhance the positive image of the organisation, and deliver desired outcomes.
Manage workforce planning and budgets to ensure effective and efficient deployment of staff and resources.
Provide exceptional customer service to all staff of the Commission and external customers.
Candidate attributes
Significant experience and proven ability in leading, implementing and measuring strategic communication plans and campaigns across both online and offline channels including a strong working knowledge of digital marketing best practice.
High level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish and build relationships with key stakeholders.
Experience in managing and leading a team including allocation of resources, work unit objectives and performance development.
Ability to think strategically with excellent planning and analytical skills.
