Pro Hire Group is a locally owned hire company, based in Unanderra in the Illawarra Region. Our aim is to provide the best solution for our clients while providing exceptional customer service. We supply equipment to a wide range of markets including Engineering, Building Construction, Maintenance, Contractors and the home enthusiasts. We currently service the Illawarra region within a 50km radius from where we are based. For extended hires we can arrange hire and delivery depending on the Customers' requirements. We aim to please all our Customer's and greatly appreciate feedback that can help us improve our service and fleet of equipment.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated and skilled Branch Workshop Mechanic to join our friendly team. You will be responsible for carrying out services, preventative maintenance and repairs on a range of petrol/gasoline and diesel engine equipment.

As the Branch Mechanic, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the Branch workshop and managing the service and repair of equipment to Pro Hire Group's standard for our customers, and to minimise downtime.
  • Fault finding and diagnostics across a variety of equipment.
  • Managing the maintenance and servicing schedule on all equipment to meet all safety regulations.
  • Performing regular equipment inspection as part of preventative maintenance.
  • Stock management of parts and essential workshop supplies.
  • Manage the flow of equipment through the workshop to ensure equipment availability for the customers.
  • Maintaining service records to high standards.
  • Liaising with external suppliers for quotes and repairs.
  • Providing our customers with safety and operating instruction.
  • Assisting in the field service breakdown and servicing requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven Mechanical background with a track record of diagnosing, assessing and rectifying problems with equipment.
  • Current Drivers Licence - HR / LF licences preferred but not essential.
  • Experience working with a variety of petrol/gasoline and diesel engine equipment.
  • Experience in diagnostics and fault finding.
  • Demonstrated understanding of workplace safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management in a reactive environment with a proven ability to manage a wide variety of tasks and prioritise and delegate.
