A great opportunity for a CTO / Head of Engineering to join this high growth fintech business.
Company
Our client is an established online financial trading company about to enter their next major growth phase. Having already grown rapidly over the time they have been in business, they have exciting growth plans to continue to grow their global presence.
A data led business, this is a role for a tech leader who loves the hands-on nature of scale ups in growth mode, but at the same time, is a strategic partner, able to build the technology architecture, systems and processes for the future.
The opportunity
Reporting to the CEO and playing a key role within the executive leadership team, the CTO will help drive the business forward and develop the technology vision and roadmap.
The CTO will set the structure, strategy and building blocks for continued growth and innovation.
The CTO is responsible for overseeing all technology functions within the company - predominantly a software engineering focus. You will be leading a team of 30+ software engineers dispersed across the globe (including an offshore development centre).
Duties
- Day to day management of engineering, ops, IT teams.
- Sprint planning, stakeholder management and engagement.
- Ownership of the technical roadmaps.
- Accountability of all aspects of security (both internal and external)
- Ownership of major technical platforms (Customer portal, payments, trading systems, corporate systems, and tooling).
- Third party vendors integration and relationship management.
- More than 10+ years managing multi-functional teams. (Frontend, backend, data, infra and ops).
- Hands-on with technical skills, preferably with an engineering/computer science degree.
- R&D savvy, with the ability to improvise bespoke solutions to challenging problems.
- Strategic planner, with the ability to prioritise the delivery schedule and features.
- Excellent risk management skills, and the ability to deliver under uncertainty.
- Technical skills relevant to the technology stack.
- Trading/FinTech experience is good to have.
