We are looking for someone who is pro-active and solutions focussed to proactively engage with diverse stakeholders to analyse, negotiate, and manage complex issues.

About The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to work as part of the GasField’s Commission team and facilitate strong partnerships and relationships across regional communities, government, NGOs and the onshore gas industry in Queensland to support coexistence. You will do this by supporting and maintaining a professional network and keeping abreast of current issues, stakeholder perspectives, tends and influence policy and regulatory frameworks.

You Will Draw On Your Expert Knowledge And Experience In

As well as experience in the agricultural or onshore gas industry, you will utilise your skills in building relationships, developing and delivering educational resources to improve coexistence outcomes. When required you will also provide Secretariat support for the Commission’s advisory groups.

  • facilitating collaboration and respectful relationships between stakeholders;
  • external communication and relationships with the ability to quickly establish rapport with diverse stakeholders across regional areas;
  • strengthening connections between gas industry, agribusiness, local businesses and partnership with entities to support economic and social opportunities across the state; and
  • the delivery of information and educational and engagement materials.

Reporting directly to the Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for supporting external engagement and communications activities. Supporting the Commission’s role to improve relationships between rural landholders, regional communities and the onshore gas industry through engagement, and provision of readily accessible information and referral services across the State.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of strategic and operational engagement strategies and plans to ensure that the engagement activities of the Commission are appropriately targeted;
  • Build, manage and maintain positive and effective relationships and networks with key stakeholders including industry, community services, local government, community leaders and landholders.
  • Support and work in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer and Stakeholder Engagement Manager in delivering regional engagement and educative activities (i.e. forums, workshops etc);
  • Support and community engagement activities associated with major policy and operational projects;
  • Act as a key contact point for local landholders and other stakeholders with queries, enquiries or complaints regarding gas operations;
  • Develop and promote educational and information materials (i.e. guides, fact sheets) which are tailored to suit difference communities or sectors in close consultation with the Communications Team;
  • Identify concerns, gaps in information, emerging trends across stakeholder groups and geographic areas and Identify risks/opportunities to inform future engagements and recommend initiatives to fulfil the functions of the Commission
  • Be an active part of the GasFields Commission team and provide other communications assistance for the Chief Executive Officer and team as required

Travel throughout Queensland is a requirement of the role and you must hold a licence that enables you to drive a vehicle in Queensland.
