Through increased business growth and following successful product launches, we now have an opportunity for a Technical/ Clinical Specialist to join our Diabetes team. This will be a position to provide superstar technical support of our Diabetes products across the Perth, W.A territory.

A Day in the Life

Reporting into the State Manager, W.A & S.A, this individual will collaborate in providing activities that contribute to achieving targets for the Western Australia Diabetes group. The successful individual will promote defined products and provide technical support to Certified Product Trainers (CPT) and Allied Health Professionals including Credentialed Diabetes Educators. As the Technical Specialist, you will provide technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations and the demonstration of Diabetes products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing comprehensive product and technical training for Allied Health Professionals particularly Endocrinologists, CDE’s, CPT’s and also patients and their care givers.
  • Effecting positive and life changing health outcomes for People with diabetes, their families and healthcare professionals
  • Establishing and fostering relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and other key customers.
  • Striving to understand customer needs and providing credible alternatives that effect mutually beneficial outcomes for both the customer and Medtronic.
  • Ensuring timely follow-up and prompt resolution and/or escalation of customers/patients’ technical and product issues, including after-hours support when needed.
  • Supporting the State Sales Manager and Territory Manager business development strategies and quarterly account plans, reinforcing the current sales messages with customers at every opportunity.
  • Driving activities that promote the broader adoptions and acceptance of our Diabetes Product Portfolio via workshops, PIEs and other educational activities.
  • Supporting the launch of new products in line with National Marketing/Launch plans
  • Providing updates on customer activities, correspondence and communicating market intelligence.
  • Recognising and understanding competitive products, features, strengths in relation to the company’s products.
  • In-conjunction with the Diabetes Therapy Consultant (DTC) ensures Existing Patient (EP) business is maintained through collaborative management of the pump upgrade program.

Must Have
  • Minimum 3 years healthcare industry experience preferably in Medical Devices, ideally Diabetes.
  • Tertiary clinical qualifications desirable.
  • Highly organised with the ability to respond to deadlines and prioritise.
  • Aptitude for technology and troubleshooting.
  • Customer / patient focused.
  • Ability to absorb complex technical information.
  • Patience and ability to teach others.
  • Resilient and persistent.
  • Professional presentation and style.
  • A team player who can also work autonomously.
