Monash Women's maternity service is part of Monash Health and provides health care across south Eastern Melbourne, uniquely integrating in one organisation all levels of health services - primary, secondary and tertiary care, as well as world renowned research and teaching facilities.


Our maternity service is the largest maternity provider in Victoria providing care to over 9,000 women each year across three hospitals: Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong and Casey.


About the role


We are excited to announce opportunities to work across a full scope of practice within our Maternity Services at Dandenong and Casey Hospital.


As a Registered Midwife, you are able to work across areas of Antenatal/ post-natal and Birth Suite. The Teams at Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital care for increasing numbers of women as the services and acuity grows across the South Eastern Window. We support a culturally diverse group of women across Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia councils. Our midwives encourage and support Monash Women’s model of practice to ensure women receive consistent high quality, safe care throughout their journey.


We are a collaborative service across Monash Women’s, and each of our sites have key selling points. Choose the site you wish to work in based on the opportunities available to you.


Why Dandenong Hospital?

  • Dandenong midwives work with multidisciplinary, collaborative teams which consistently care for women throughout pregnancy, birth and postnatally

  • Casey Hospital operates a continuity model called the Caseload program, offering women the gold standard of maternity care.

  • Casey Hospital operates one of only two publicly funded homebirth programs in the State.

  • Casey Hospital provides services specific to younger women and vulnerable women through our Young Women’s Program.


Work in an ongoing full or part time capacity across our Monash Women’s Program across the full scope of practice in Maternity, Birth suite and Clinic as you grow your career in maternity and have a work life balance as you work a rotating roster across all shifts, 7 days a week.

About you


To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset in a hospital setting as a trained Midwife. You will hold a passion for women centred client care and a high standard of customer-focused service in line with core values of the organisation. You will have exceptional communication skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You demonstrate the ability to lead by example and provide coaching and support to other midwives and students. You are an advocate of the Monash Health Strategic Guiding Principles


What you need



  • Successful completion of a Graduate Midwifery Program is essential. Minimum 12 months experience

  • Willingness to work within the maternity team

  • Australian working rights

  • Current AHPRA registration
