• Demonstrate your stakeholder engagement skills across government to successfully deliver work programs Great opportunity to join the Transmission team in planning and delivering key strategic transmission infrastructure and policy projects to support the development of Victoria’s transmission network.

The Senior Policy Officer in the Transmission team of the Energy Group's newly formed Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) Delivery Division is responsible for providing policy research, analysis, development and advice, informing legislative and regulatory reforms, and undertaking senior stakeholder management in the key area of transmission networks.

The successful applicant will have prior legislative/regulatory experience as well as knowledge/experience of the energy sector, ideally including the National Electricity regulatory framework (NEL, NER) and Victorian energy legislation. The position requires strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills, including the capacity to work flexibly across the Energy Group. Sound understanding of governance processes in Government is desirable. Strong analysis skills will be key.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification such as law, public policy or economics is preferred.
  • Strong experience with Government processes and operations focused on policy development and delivery.
  • Prior energy policy experience would be highly desirable, with specific experience of the NER and NEL.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking.

This is a fixed term position until 30 June 2024.
