The primary purpose of this role is to use your cancer treatment knowledge to support the gap analysis of chemotherapy workflows in metropolitan and regional health services. This will enable you to work with the team to configure the solution to meet and exceed the needs of the clinicians and administrative staff who will use it post-implementation. You will also be responsible for testing configurations, identifying root causes of test issues, and through working with the team identify and implement resolutions. You will support the change manager in developing training materials based on the configuration and agreed workflows as well as support training of super users and end users. You will be instrumental in supporting sites as they go live to ensure that clinicians and administrative teams are able to utilise the solution effectively and safely during the activation process.

Responsibilities

Domain Expertise

  • Expert level knowledge of Australian adult (and paediatric) chemotherapy regimens
  • Experience in clinical improvement program implementation, including gap analysis following current and future state process assessment
  • Understanding of cancer treatment and healthcare trends and initiatives within Australia
  • Understanding of electronic health records and their impact on health services, clinicians, patients and other stakeholders

Solution Implementation to meet requirements as specified in the project plan:
  • Carry out the implementation of digital health solutions following a detailed project plan and in accordance with the agreed project scope
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues encountered during the implementation of digital health solutions
  • Conduct workflow design and subsequent solution configuration processes
  • Support process assessment and redesign working collaboratively with clients and other teams to achieve robust, practical, and beneficial workflows
  • Configure solutions based on agreed and redesigned workflows and practices
  • Thoroughly test digital health solutions using robust procedures to identify and resolve test issues
  • Support the design & conduct formal training programs and knowledge transfer
  • Thoroughly understand implementation methodologies and be able to put these into practice
  • Support User Acceptance Testing and Production Verification Testing performed by the client
  • Support clinicians and administrative staff during activation of digital health solutions


Solution Deployment
  • Serve as the client's application expert, ensuring the system set up supports workflow decisions.
  • Liaise with the client, Project Managers and other teams to understand the client's go-live and deployment strategies ensuring that the solution meets the client's business needs

Consultancy
  • Understand project scope and work with other project team members identify implementation risks and impacts
  • Deliver advice, guidance and recommendations on system configuration and implementation best practice. Identify, analyse, and document client business requirements.

Reporting / Documentation
  • Document problem resolutions, issues, and other solutions and make them available for future reference by other Consultants.
  • Provide weekly status reports throughout the project lifecycle to assist management eliminate risks and increase the likelihood of project success
  • Ensure documentation produced is accurate, relevant and provided in a timely manner


Qualifications Required:

Academic and professional qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Clinical/Business experience
  • Certified Health Informatician Australasia (CHIA) credential highly regarded

Experience:
  • Anywhere between 2-6 years related work experience in cancer pharmacy or cancer nursing in a metropolitan or regional health centre
  • Administration of chemotherapy to adult and/or paediatric patients

Travel Requirements:
  • Willing and able to travel interstate or internationally as required to meet project and client needs.

Working Arrangements:
  • Monday through Friday or as defined by assignment requirements
  • Some out of hours work will be required during specific stages of a project
