JOB DESCRIPTION
We have an exciting opportunity for an HSEQ Manager to join our business. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the Assurance team in providing health, safety, quality, sustainability and environment advice to the SRAPC team. This includes the development, implementation, measuring, the evaluation and reporting on compliance with the Business Management System.
The Role
Manage the HSEQ functions and the assurance program for ConnectSydney and the SRAP Contract
Advises the ConnectSydney’s management team on quality, health, safety and wellbeing concepts and collaborate with TfNSW on implementing safe, caring and reliable HSEQ practices.
Implement an effective safety, environment and quality auditing program to provide assurance of regulatory compliance and maintain currency of all associated documentation.
Assess subcontractor HSE submissions, lead onboarding meetings and SWMS reviews, conduct initial site surveillance.
Build an in-depth knowledge of GMR’s, conduct risk assessments and provide advice to project leaders.
Oversee and participation in inductions, training, toolbox meetings, investigations, monitor and review contractor safety procedures.
Provide specialist safety, environment and quality guidance to line managers, HSE representatives and employees.
Develop and implement practices that improve safety, environment and quality performance.
Support line management to ensure that relevant safety, environment and quality policies, standards and guidelines are followed.
Assists management to ensure it has adequate risk management processes in place to identify and control its relevant hazards.
Coordination of internal and external audits of management systems and ensure that compliance obligations and hazards are undertaken according to the level of underlying risk.
Promote use of Job Pre-Start Checks / SWMS tools via inductions, field visits & reviews.
Oversee incident investigation to meet internal and regulatory timeframes.
Produce Safety related business cases / cost proposals for the upcoming forward works program
Manage the WHSE budget and propose new annual budgets with justification for the upcoming year
The Candidate
Tertiary qualifications in science, engineering or equivalent discipline
Current Drivers Licence.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in transport construction management or maintenance environment
Proven experience in engaging and liaising with front line staff & supervisors / managers, senior managers, industry specialists, clients and regulatory authorities.
Proven ability to develop partnerships with a range of stakeholders including management, staff, clients, regulatory bodies and the community.
Proven ability to lead and engage a diverse range of people.
