JOB DESCRIPTION

We have an opportunity for a Delivery Director to join Sydney Metro’s high performing projects team. Reporting to the Deputy Project Director, you will lead, direct and coordinate the delivery and management of one of the large scale major works packages developing major infrastructure for the Metro West project, with clearly defined scope, quality, time and cost constraints.This role is for the Delivery Director tunnelling, however we are looking for leaders not technical directors.

The role provides management, leadership, professional and technical guidance in the delivery phases of the works; monitors the work being conducted; controls processes to ensure contract compliance and manages processes to ensure that the works are delivered to the required schedules, budgetsand in accordance with safe work methods and risk management practices.

The Delivery Director will work closely as part of the Sydney Metro Executive management to source, leverage and lead the expertise and specialist technical resources required for the successful delivery of the Project.

About you

Ideally you will 10 – 15 years of major projects experience with project sizes of $500m+. Please note that we are interested in your maturity and leadership skills, someone with less experience that possesses these skills are welcome to apply.
You will have complex stakeholder engagement experience and skills.
You will be a senior leader in a team delivering the largest infrastructure project in Australia, this is not a technical role.
You will bring strong leadership skills to inspire direction and delivery, develop people, and drive the Metro culture.
You will ensure best practice in project and financial management while delivering complex projects at or below budget within required timeframes and meeting required outcomes and quality standards.
You will have experience managing complex strategic project elements that require sustained leadership, negotiating solutions across organisational boundaries and delivering product requirements to project milestones.
You will have experience making complex judgements on the best strategies to maximise preparedness for future requirements and consistently communicating that all decisions can affect the three critical outcomes of customer service, safety and cost effectiveness.
You will work within the Metro Values and help guide your team and supply chain in support of these Values in every activity during the life cycle of the project.
