We currently have an exciting opportunity for Director Procurement (Operations) to join us in the Procurement Services branch of Infrastructure and Place (I&P). You will be accountable for all related procurement activities across the portfolio extending to the coordination and relationship management between projects in branches.

Lead the embedded teams within I&P branches that are responsible for all procurement activity (excluding main construction contracts) ensuring a high level of professional practice and delivery of compliant, effective, efficient and value for money procurement outcomes.
In conjunction with direct reports and the project teams, develop procurement strategies, plans and frameworks, to support the organisation’s objectives through innovative practices, commercial acumen and market intelligence.
Providing expert advice on procurement strategies to the Director Procurement (I&P) and to Program and Project Directors and other division/branch managers as required, thereby guiding compliant procurement activities for the programs/projects.
Negotiating and gain approval of contracts, service agreements and variations.

About you

Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in procurement management.
You have solid demonstrated experience in managing change and managing multi-disciplinary teams in complex and challenging environments.
Politically astute, you possess strong collaboration and communication skills and the ability to successfully manage internal and external stakeholders in a complex environment.
A lateral thinker you are a creative problem solver with the drive to get things done, deliver results and cost effective outcomes.
