We are an authorised solution provider for a number of global business software platforms. Most implementations of these products require customisations and integrations and (development services). We are establishing a Software Development Division to provide these development services.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Assistance with establishing the approach to providing development services, including methodologies, processes, documentation, systems, controls and project estimating / budgeting / pricing.
• Provision of integration and customisation services for their customers. This will include requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, training and data migration.
• Collaboration with current contractors used to provide aspects of the development services.
• Ongoing development of skills and knowledge to align with the company strategy, technical requirements of the platforms we sell, and customer needs.

The ideal candidate will have many of the following attributes:

• Demonstrated experience (minimum 5 years) in the business software industry resulting in a seasoned and pragmatic approach to critical thinking and decision making.
• Commensurate technical and accounting capabilities and experience.
• An appropriate under-graduate or similar qualification – a bachelor’s degree is preferable.
• Experience with Sage ERP applications and related development technologies.
• Both tactical and strategic thinking skills.
• The ability to work in teams, managing complex matrix relationships.
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• The ability to create and moderate clear, concise and effective written specifications, end user documentation, proposals, presentations and similar materials.
• Experience managing projects against budgets.
