About this role
The primary responsibily of this role is to implement the strategy of BT Security Portfolio and to help develop and deliver capabilities necessary to support it.
You will have close engagement with the broader Security Product Engineering team and with business stakeholders within BT Security in order to develop new products and services in an engineering capacity.
You will also provide 4th line engineering support for capabilities developed by SPE within BT managed environments and customer deployments.
You will work across multiple teams and CFUs to deliver innovative products to our customer and bring with you technical knowledge and expertise in your field to help develop best-in-class products and services.
Youll have the following responsibilities
Contribute to the designs for products and services developed by SPE.
Build, test and release platform and capabilities in line with designs produced by SPE.
Rapid proof of concept development and validation for infrastructure components to provide infrastructure services which are the foundation of the platform and pre-requisite for delivery of products and services developed by SPE.
Provide 4th line engineering support to Delivery and Operational teams.
Develop, test and release applications to support products and services delivered by SPE.
Develop, test and release automation tools to support the orchestrated deliveries of SPE developed capabilities alongside 3rd party and vendor products.
Support delivery teams when additional support is required to help meet their delivery objectives.
Create and maintains documentation related to capabilities developed by SPE.
Youll have the following skills & experience
The Cyber Technical Specialist will have skills within one or more areas of technical expertise outlined below, with specialisation in specific areas.
Proven platform and application stack creation and support skills.
Network, host and application based security knowledge.
Knowledge and experience working with and maintaining Continuous Integration and Delivery aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Requirements capture and testing, including test plans, implementation of test harnesses and delivery of test reports.
Packaging artefacts into releases that can be consumed by delivery, support and customer teams.
Mandatory Experience - Experience working with Linux, DevOps methodologies & various automation techniques.
Preferred - Knowledge of use of Agile methodologies.
Preferred - Experience with DevOps favoured coding languages including Python & Bash.
Preferred Experience working with Git
