About the team

We primarily seek to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of organisations at all stages of the data transformation journey from designing the change required, to delivering and managing that change and providing assurance around change initiatives.

As a Senior Manager, you will be a lead role in one of the fastest growing teams in Australia and build best in class data frameworks.

What will you typical day look like?

  • Articulate leading practices in a given sector or industry, by publishing eminence (opinion papers, blogs, articles, conferences) for both Deloitte’s internal teams as well as clients/ public on the latest and greatest of Data and AI technologies, methodologies and best practices
  • Articulate linkage between business strategy, information strategy, business case, and value creation
  • Provide deep technical mentorship to teams working on client delivery or internal asset development
  • Where needed, roll your sleeves and gets hands-on with technology and data platforms and work closely with engineering teams
  • Present insight and direction on future state of data and analytics technology based on industry best practices and client's unique business and technical model, to senior client leadership
  • Establish and communicate, to senior client leadership, expectations for deliverables, project/program timeframes, key risks and issues. Assumes overall responsibility for engagement deliverables and resources

Enough about us, let’s talk about you:

You are someone with:

  • 8+ years of experience in leading large scale data transformation and solution delivery in a professional services environment
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and architecting big data solutions on GCP (knowledge and experience with more than one cloud offering is a differentiator)
  • Knowledge and experience on creating modern, cloud native data architectures
  • Demonstrated experience working with cloud data platforms such as BigQuery, DataProc, Redshift, Teradata, Synapse.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in advanced data and AI engineering subjects such as DataOps (data pipeline, orchestration, CI/CD), MLOps, real-time data integration and consumption use cases
  • Strong experience in data manipulation languages such as SQL, and Python or Scala
  • Experience in architecting both batch and streaming platforms (with sound, working understanding of streaming/ eventing platforms like Kafka, PubSub, Kinesis etc(
  • Experience in advising organisations on building and implementing cloud data solutions using industry best practice tools, technologies and methods
  • Strong team management and project management skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to adapt to technical and non-technical audiences
