Your new company
Client is local government client based in south Brisbane. As result of peak in the workload, they are looking to engage the services of an experienced Transport Planner or Senior Technical Officer with background in Traffic Engineering and / or Transport Planning to play a key role in the team

Your new role
Working in multidisciplinary team this role provides technical expertise and support across a whole range of complex transport planning issues with specific involvement in the Integrated local transport plan
• Manage the development of transport planning strategies and policies
• Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of transport initiatives and trials
• Assist in the development of high-level advocacy for the improvement of regional transport networks,
• Liaise with community and key stakeholders to ensure transport planning policies and plans reflect community values

What you'll need to succeed
Candidates would need to tertiary qualified as Transport Planner or traffic engineers or have significant experience working as a Technical Officer in a similar role for local government or TMR / equivalent. Candidates would need extensive knowledge of and experience in transport network engineering practise, including traffic management, functional road classification, traffic operation and design, transport legislation, regulations and standards This technical expertise would be allied to strong stakeholder engagement skills, allowing the incumbent to be properly consultative to both in house and external stakeholders.

Client offering an interesting and challenging workload with an employer that values strong work life balance. Contract is initially six months although potentially option to extend. Client offering good contractor rates, suggest $50-60 ph plus super with little bit of flexibility for candidates with very significant experience in similar role.
