JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Project Officer, Victorian Energy Compare will be responsible for providing support for the Power Saving Bonus Community Outreach Program and other related projects that promote long-term affordability outcomes for energy consumers.

The Power Saving Bonus Community Outreach Program includes partnerships with multiple community organisations. A core function of this role will be to work closely with program partners to monitor and report on the delivery of the Community Outreach Program as it aligns with the project milestones and policy objectives.

The position requires the successful applicant to demonstrate effective project management, stakeholder management, and policy development skills. Specifically, strong project and policy skills to enable project planning and delivery, along with the ability to prepare status reports and briefs on complex energy affordability issues under tight timeframes. Well-developed stakeholder management skills will allow the successful candidate to influence outcomes to ensure the Program objectives are effectively delivered.

This role will work in a collaborative team but also across the broader Energy Group, the Department and with our key external partners (i.e. community organisations and the energy industry). This position will require a motivated individual with strong organisational and communication skills and the ability to work effectively and flexibly as a key team member.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in the energy sector, program management and/or implementation is highly desirable.
  • An understanding of government, departmental and Ministerial functions and processes is desirable.
  • An understanding of policies and issues, both local and international, relating to energy policy is desirable, but not mandatory. 

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2022.
