Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is recruiting a Senior Expeditor to join our Operations business supporting one of our key energy clients in the Asia Pacific (APAC) West region. This is a 6-month contract role within the Supply Chain team based in Perth, Western Australia.

Reporting to the Procurement & Materials Lead and working as part of a collaborative Supply Chain team you will support the overall supply chain objectives which will include:

  • Assisting the Procurement & Materials Control Lead as the functional focal point for client in relation to Materials control & Expediting activities, queries and concerns
  • Reviewing purchase orders for expediting requirements
  • Providing accurate weekly reports to procurement team, planners and end users where required
  • Development of third-party expediting plans as required for critical packages
  • Leading expediting meetings with suppliers to monitor performance and hold supplier to account for deliverables.
  • Notifying project personnel of any potential “slippages” to the agreed schedule
  • Interrogating supplier production schedules to identify risks to schedule and opportunities to improve delivery dates
  • Updating the materials management system with accurate and timely information
  • Identifying and reporting project material shortages and surplus

In addition, your proven customer service approach to stakeholder management (internal and external) will enable you to maintain positive engagement and liaison between project engineering, implementation teams, offshore personnel and clients.

Skills / Qualifications

Ideally you have 5+ years senior supply chain experience across both expediting and materials control, working for an EPCM within the Oil & Gas industry. MCIPS Qualifications would also be advantageous but not essential.

You must have full Australian working rights and reside in Western Australia to be considered for this role. In addition, yo u will also have:

  • A thorough understanding of, and exposure to, key Procurement concepts and principles
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience of Supply Chain management software
  • Advanced skills in SAP, Oracle, VPRM complemented with Intermediate skills in Excel
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) including being highly skilled in report writing and coordinating / chairing meetings in client interfacing roles
