Due to continued growth and project wins, Sydney Structures Team has a great opportunity for an experienced Technical Director - Bridges to join us. The Sydney Structures Team are involved in a wide variety of projects covering several market sectors and have built an excellent team culture with great people and established technical authority. This diverse role will see you working on a range of transport infrastructure projects including road and rail bridges and other civil structures.

Role

This key role in the team and will see you involved in

Working with the Structures Team Leader, you will play a large role in winning and leading the teams bridge projects across the region as well as contributing to the development of our junior bridge engineers.

  • Planning and leading the delivery of bridge projects ranging from major bridge designs through to assessments of existing bridge structures.
  • Maintain existing and develop new trusted relationships with key bridge clients in the NSW region.
  • Demonstrate advanced technical capability in the design of bridge structures.
  • Coordinate bridge design with other disciplines in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Lead design teams, including engineers and drafters, to deliver projects.
  • Prepare proposals for projects and pursue opportunities with clients, as directed by the Team Lead and Business Group Leader.
  • Technical report writing following both client and GHD guidelines.
  • Seeking business development opportunities to assist in the growth of the bridges' portfolio.
What You Will Bring To The Team
  • Ideally 15+ years of proven excellence at all stages of the project life cycle, from preparing bids to feasibility studies, design management, detailed design, and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated professional judgement and commercial acumen, including identifying, assessing, evaluating and solving problems to brief and budget.
  • Robust written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
An interest in coaching and mentoring to technically strengthen the team capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in transport projects, with a particular focus on steel and concrete bridges (NSW (particularly TfNSW and Sydney Trains) and ARTC bridge design experience desirable).
  • Bachelor's degree qualifications in a civil or structural discipline - Engineers Australia Chartered engineering status achieved, or application commenced.
