About the role
The Legislation, Policy and Compliance Officer will work within the service design team to ensure the future state design can be implemented within the existing legislative and policy constraints. This role also has the key role of analysing opportunities to improve the legislation of the agency's policies to enable continual improvement in service delivery. This will require complex analysis and executive level briefings.
Contract to June 2022 + 12 month extension option.
Key Responsibilities
As an experienced Legislative, Policy and Compliance Officer, you will be self-motivated and capable of bringing your talents around assessment of legislation, compliance and policy to a multidisciplinary team.
- Conduct complex legal and policy analysis to inform the future state design of core election services
- Develop an operational understanding of the agency's Policies and compliance requirements.
- Outline the legislative and policy compliance impacts of the future state design
- Conduct in depth research and analysis on relevant topics to help inform team outcomes
- Develop and/or contribute to high quality briefing materials regarding legislative, compliance and policy matters to help achieve team outcomes
- Deliver effective presentations to a range of internal and external stakeholders to support the team to achieve outcomes
Required Skills
- 2+ years' experience as a Legislation, Policy and Compliance Officer or demonstrated experience in a policy or legislative compliance related position.
- Strong written skills that are short, sharp and effective
- Able to produce high quality and succinct work quickly.
- Effective negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Highly developed judgement, intelligence and common sense
- High level of attention to detail, highly motivated, committed with an ability to work independently.
- A commitment to support and promote Program objectives.
- Proven ability to work as part of a collaborative and highly motivated team.
