The Opportunity:

Visy’s new corrugated packaging facility in Truganina, officially opened in April 2019, was established as part of our commitment to innovate and increase corrugating and converting capacity in Victoria.

The 36,500sqm $100 million state-of-the-art corrugated plant showcases some of the world’s most modern technology. The plant manufactures RSC and die-cut cartons and is capable of making over 1 million cartons each day!

The Role:

The role of the Corrugator Technical Improvement Manager is to lead both the production outcomes and the technical development of the production teams and production processes to deliver world’s best practice in productivity, quality, waste, safety and sustainability.

This engineering management role provides constant guidance and support to the Corrugator team, Supervisors and Production Manager to drive the identification and implementation of best practice robust systems and process related to all facets of Corrugated board manufacture. A key accountability of the role will include training and demonstrated assessed competence of the team in these developed areas.

The expectation of this role is to ensure that the Truganina site performs at a high standard, and becomes the centre of excellence for best practice through continuous improvement of all engineering processes and procedures, which can be rolled out to other Visy Board sites in the network once developed and proven at Truganina. This role will be responsible for training other Visy Board employees in these processes and procedures as required, and the planning, direction and management of all engineering technical development at the site.

Ensuring you remain up to date with current global practices will be key in the success of this role.

Experience & Qualifications you will bring:

• Qualification in Engineering or accomplished Trade background – Electrical or Mechanical.
• Significant Fibre industry knowledge and technical competency in Corrugation.
• Management experience with proven ability to drive a results driven culture and support functional managers / supervisors within their functional areas.
• Demonstrated achievement of operational targets with production crews together with development of word class work practices.
• Achieved technical development of a team including implementing sustainable processes/procedures/training methods.
• Lean/CI experience - Yellow or Green Belt highly regarded.
