The Opportunity:

Visy Logistics is one of Australia’s largest independent transporters of containerised freight, which includes its significant international freight forwarding operation.

In addition to servicing Visy’s internal businesses, we leverage the scale of our operations to provide competitive and innovative international sea freight services to our growing customer base.

Due to recent significant growth, we now have a newly created, permanent fulltime opportunity for an outcome driven and solution oriented Customer Service Coordinator to join our busy yet supportive customer service team within our Global Forwarding division. You will play a pivotal role as our “Customer Advocate” and as such be a key contact for our internal and external customers for all their international transport queries.

The Role

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager and based at our Somerton DC, (if not working remotely due to COVID-19 restrictions) your role focuses on ensuring a seamless delivery of customer expectations in line with the SOP’s and agreed commercial solution. This is a fast paced, highly dynamic position that will suit a very organised and driven individual from the supply chain/ freight forwarding industry best.

On a typical day you’d be busy with but not limited to:

  • Timely response to all day to day queries such as pricing requests or invoicing
  • Proactively inform customers on shipment status and exceptions
  • Receive and manage any customer complaints / service queries
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing high level of customer service
  • Work with Airlines, Shipping lines, overseas and 3PL agents regarding shipping process related matters
  • Focus on continuous improvement through process improvement

What you need to bring to the role:

  • Strong administrative and exceptional customer service experience within the Freight forwarding sector mandatory
  • Technically savvy with solid computer skills and good working knowledge of Cargo Wise Enterprise system
  • Sound International & Local Transport experience and Customs clearance requirement knowledge
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with all stakeholders
  • Be a highly motivated, driven and organised individual who masters the art of prioritising
