The opportunity

An exciting opportunity of Reinsurance Portfolio Analyst has become available within QBE’s Global Reinsurance Operations team. The Global Reinsurance Operations team places the reinsurance protections for Australia Pacific (AUSPAC) as well as provide insightful research, analysis, strategic recommendations, and an appropriate supervisory framework.

Reporting to the Reinsurance Portfolio Manager, this role will support the development of reinsurance placement strategy & assist with portfolio management, budget plans, reinsurance reporting, wordings, and data management.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the efficient and effective monitoring and management of QBE’s ongoing risks, through reinsurance, contributing to shareholder wealth.

In this role, you will

  • Support the development of reinsurance placement strategy & assist with portfolio management.
  • Collate and analyze reinsurance purchasing information for the divisional reinsurance programs, including pricing and rates.
  • Support the divisional and Group program reviews, including cover notes, wordings, and special acceptances.
  • Assist with the Reinsurance budget for business plans.
  • Manage reporting procedures and systems for the delivery and management of reinsurance, claims and regulatory information/data.
  • Contribute to business improvement initiatives aligned to improving business unit’s KPIs
  • Communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including reinsurers, brokers, and underwriters.

Your story so far

  • Experience in reinsurance or insurance, with a strong understanding of industry practices.
  • Experience in, or general knowledge of, insurance product classes and policy interpretation.
  • Ability to manage and analyze data and/or technical information, through systems & practices.
  • High degree of numeracy and outstanding attention to detail.
  • Strong capability in presenting insights through software solutions, such as PowerPoint.
  • Strong facilitation, interpersonal, influencing and communication skills to build relationships and rapport at all levels.
