Purpose of the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Manufacturing Manager to join us full-time within our Global Head Office based in Collingwood.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll be responsible for leading a team within Production ensuring the production schedule is met, manufacturing methods are optimised and translated into commercially viable methods and utilising your technical and analytical expertise and problem-solving skills will proactively address and solve manufacturing and production issues.
As Aesop continues in its substantial growth, it is imperative that the Manufacturing Manager be a hands-on and agile leader with a desire to work towards new company goals.
Key responsibilities
- Attend and materially contribute to productions of high-risk products, new products, reformulations, scale-ups, manufacturer transitions providing supporting documentation to Commercialisation team.
- Support Quality Team in resolving quality issues related to raw materials, packaging, and contents investigations, periodically audit Contract Manufacturers, liaise with R&D for any raw material deviations proposed by Contract Manufacturers.
- Attend R&D pilots and critically evaluate manufacturing methods to identify pinch points and streamline processes.
- Manage and support Production Coordinators ensuring production schedule is met, status updates impacting orders are communicated to the relevant internal and external stakeholders, and ERP is data is accurate.
- Proactively work with contract manufacturers and internal stakeholders on continuous improvement initiatives including production validations, and batch size optimisation and sustainability projects.
What we are looking for
- Significant experience in a manufacturing/production management position ideally in a regulated facility
- Formulation experience with a chemistry/chemical engineering background highly desirable
- Proven track record of planning, prioritisation, and implementation of projects
- Process and detail oriented with the ability to drive these behaviours through a team
- An incredibly curious nature to understand the root cause
- Ability to build good rapport with key cross functional teams
- Exceptional visual, written, and verbal communication
- An ability to articulate ideas in many ways and is open to change
