About the opportunity:
Working out of either our NSW or VIC sites, the Group Environmental Engineer is responsible for driving energy and environmental efficiency and innovation across the business, working with operations, engineering and project teams to identify opportunities, run trials and ensure energy / environmental efficiency is built into all projects. The role is also responsible for working across the business to ensure tradewaste compliance, implementing improvements to meet current and forecast demands on the system and to manage any regulatory requirements including NGERS and NPI in Australia.

Specifically, you will:

* Lead the Environment strategy for Group and the implementation across country teams with a specific focus on energy efficiency, water reduction and wastewater treatment compliance
* ikdtfkryIdentify energy efficiency projects, leveraging existing projects across the business as well as new or innovative solutions in the market
* Identify gaps in wastewater treatment compliance, recommend solutions to address these gaps that are commercially and operationally sustainable
* Identify water consumption patterns and cost-effective solutions to reduce water use
* Clearly and concisely communicate concepts in written and verbal formats, preparing business cases that outline the cost and opportunity of projects
* Assist sites in the development of internal capital approval applications for environmental projects while also identifying and applying for external funding
* Work with the engineering and capital projects teams on implementation, providing project status updates
* Coordinate the collection of environmental data from sites for use in internal and external environmental reporting

To be successful in this role you will need:

* Tertiary degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Environmental preferred)
* 3-5 years' experience in energy management, energy auditing or similar ideally within the manufacturing industry
* Demonstrated understanding of Operations and complexity of end to end Supply chain
* Exceptional communication, presentation, team working and report writing skills
* Mobility for interstate travel
