Job Description

The Role

You will be joining our day shift team on a full-time permanent basis at our Chipping Norton Recycling Facility. You will be required to work Monday to Friday and every second Saturday with potential of overtime.

Your role as a maintenance fitter will be to maintain all plant and equipment and provide assistance to other members of the team as required. You will be the first point of contact for breakdown maintenance to ensure our production keeps running and work on various preventative maintenance tasks as required. You will be required to work on fixed plants such as conveyors, screens and crushers. As the sole fitter on this shift, you will be required to work proactively and manage your time efficiently.

Desired Skills and Experience

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Steel fabrication & welding of new & replacement parts;
  • Scheduled maintenance of plant and crushing plant;
  • Scheduling servicing of plant and crushing plant;
  • Emergency repairs of plant and crushing plant;
  • Welding including gas, arc and Mig; and
  • Gas cutting.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a current trade certificate as a fitter, diesel mechanic, boilermaker or similar;
  • Have experience working on and repairing crushing & screening equipment;
  • Have previous experience in fabrication and welding;
  • Be able to trouble shoot and perform breakdown repairs;
  • Be able to read an engineering drawing;
  • Have experienced working at heights and hold a current EWP licence;
  • Have a clear communication style and be able to relay handover notes for the day shift; and
  • Have a safety focused and positive attitude.
