About the role
As Process Safety Technologist, you will play a key role in collaborating and engaging across the refinery, developing and stewarding site Process Safety improvements. You will influence and support our site operations, maintenance and engineering and you will aim to improve overall results for Viva Energy Australia in terms of process safety, reliability and costs. You will work with the business and be a subject matter expert in process safety and safety case documentation, ensuring safe and reliable operations. In this role your technical knowledge will be demonstrated in conducting hazard analysis, Bowtie analysis and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), developing / maintaining in-house capability of various tools for impact assessment (PHAST, SAFETI) and supporting the MHF licence renewal process.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have an understanding and experience operating in a complex major hazard facility. You will be a self-driven, safety focused leader, able to look at the big picture and be naturally curious and focused on business improvement and experience of coaching, mentoring and delivering business and process improvement initiatives. You will have demonstrated experience across HSE in a complex operating environment.
