About the role
The MATES program assists people with mental health conditions who are experiencing social isolation to expand their networks and engagement with the community. This position is responsible for the administration, delivery, development and evaluation of the program in Southern Tasmania. In this role you will receive and assesses referrals, attract, recruit, and train volunteers and match volunteers with referred clients to increase their social connectedness within the region, supporting the state-wide program.
What you will bring
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, and/or significant experience in the delivery of human services
- Understanding of issues impacting on people experiencing mental health issues
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, match and support volunteers
- Proven highly developed organisational and time management skills
- Excellent records management and general office administration including proficiency in MS Office or similar software
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including with people from a wide range of backgrounds and particularly those experiencing mental health issues
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of team
- Current Drivers Licence
