Your new company

Work with a highly reputable local council in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs. With deep ties to a highly diverse community, your work will have a direct impact on said community and thorough interaction with it's people across the municipality. On a month by month basis, the Service Planning Officer will undertake responsive, effective and accountable service and staff allocation and rostering within required time-frames, to best meet clients/carers needs, preferences and staffing variables.

Your new role

Reporting to the Team Leader Community Support, you will arrange for agency staff to cover unmet needs as per approved procedure or as delegated by Team Leader Service Support and Planning Report any scheduling, service issues or other concerns with agency staff. Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Provision of high quality, coordinated care and support to new and existing clients of the Aged & Disability Department.
  • To identify and offer suggestions for continuously improving rostering and allocation practice, with solution-focused approaches to optimise service flexibility, cost effectiveness, client outcome sand staff capacity.
  • Accurate and effective collection and use of workforce data.
  • Identify gaps, issues, trends and information that would help inform workforce planning, training, development, or management.

What you'll need to succeed

With a thorough understanding of rostering and service allocation in a community based, outreach setting, you will also need;

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Services (or related discipline) and/or relevant experience in the Community Services environment.
  • An ability to develop solutions continuously improve systems, work processes and practices in a collaborative manner.
  • An ability to accurately collect and interpret data, and provide reports to a professional standard.
