Leading life insurer are currently looking to recruit a Newly Qualified Life Actuary with 2 - 3 years PQE

Responsible for supporting PPA Senior Consultants/ Managers in providing fact-based analysis, identification of actionable insights, actuarial pricing & profitability advice, backing the businesses strategy, product & pricing initiatives

Duties will include:

  • PPA team SME on expense allocation, cost drivers - setting methodology & approach to deriving expense unit cost assumptions for pricing and forecasting models
  • Analysis of economics, revenue margins & costs, across the businesses value chain - assessing impact on pricing & profitability, identification of value-added insights
  • Competitor analysis of revenue margins & costs, comparison with Wealth, SWOT analysis
  • Co-ordinating annual pricing & profitability review across PPA sub-teams, covering setting of assumptions, profitability analysis & presentation of results
  • Business case modelling, including assessment relative to target metrics, and presentation of results
  • Peer Review of actuarial models, actuarial pricing reports and supporting analyses and results
  • Proactively manage risk; meet all policy and compliance requirements; perform controls; adhere to Process and Procedures pertinent to role; and escalate events, issues or breaches as they are identified

What you'll need to succeed

  • 2 to 4 years post qualification experience
  • Strong technical skills in interrogation and analysis of data, summarizing results, and identification of insights
  • Experience scoping, planning, and managing projects
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to relate technical problems back to business context
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity
