The Department of Regional NSW was formed in 2020 as a central agency for regional issues.

The Regional Growth NSW Development Corporation (RGDC) is established under the Growth Centres (Development Corporations) Act 1974 to lead the delivery and implementation of the Government’s Special Activation Precincts (SAPs) Program. These world class precincts will support existing and emerging ‘engine industries’. This includes but is not limited to advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, agribusiness and freight and logistics which will drive regional NSW economies over the next 20 years.

About the role:

The role acts as a key advocate for the SAPs and the world leading opportunities for innovation, sustainable development and business operations that they present.

The Investor & Partnership Relations Officer supports the Manager, Precinct Partnerships and Strategy with identifying, developing and maintaining key relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, industry groups and businesses in each of the Special Activation Precincts in regional NSW.

Key accountabilities of the role:

  • Develop and manage key relationships with State and Federal Government agencies, Local Government, research organisations, investors and other stakeholders
  • Identify, develop and manage projects that attract and retain businesses, increase economic growth, grow employment, infrastructure opportunities, investment and exports for SAPs
  • Provide timely, relevant and actionable market intelligence and advice on industry innovation
  • Prepare timely, accurate, relevant and high-quality briefings, submissions, reports, and correspondence to clients and stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of systems and ongoing improvements to increase team efficiency and effectiveness

You will develop and manage diverse partnerships and projects across many industries with a wide geographic spread of partners, within agreed timeframes, given varying expectations, viewpoints and interests.

The role will manage time and budget constraints in a fast-paced environment to achieve tangible high-quality outcomes in the Special Activation Precincts.

This role reports to the Manager Precinct Partnerships and Strategy.

About You:

To be considered for this role, you’ll need to have:

  • Sound understanding of the business development and investment process and key factors driving regional economic growth.
  • Sound customer relationship management experience
  • Understanding of complex industry and Government structures
  • Experience working in regional areas with regional stakeholders and networks

Essential requirements

  • Current Open Drivers Licence
  • Tertiary qualifications in business or economics, or equivalent experience
