About The Role

In the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment, we focus on our clients' strategic, operational, financial and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders. The bookkeeper (internal title will be Accounts Services Assistant) role is a permanent, full-time role supporting professional staff within the Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth Corporate Finance & Restructuring teams.

Duties include bookkeeping using the Insol6 Insolvency Management software platform (formerly 'MYOB Insol') ('Insol6'), general Insol6 data processing, banking assistance using various on-line banking platforms, preparation of draft statutory documents/returns and various other accounts services-related responsibilities such as those set out below.

What You'll Do

  • Provide banking/funds handling support to staff concerning their client needs including monitoring and handling client funds, including banking, opening and closing bank accounts, investing funds, other liaison with banks as needed, Insol6/bank reporting
  • Insol6 data entry and database management including, but not limited to, processing receipts and payments, journal entries, wages, dividend distributions, entering/updating employee/creditor information, updating client Charts of Account
  • Manage and monitor client ATO registration and reporting obligations, including GST/PAYG registrations, monitor statutory due dates, drafting and lodging BAS, attend to GST payables, monitor GST receivables, liaise with ATO as needed
  • ASIC statutory reporting including drafting and lodging ASIC Forms 5602/5603
  • Monitor staff compliance with statutory deadlines, prepare and manage periodical control reports/registers
  • Assist with, and arrange, timely closure of finalised client matters on request, including bank account closures, preparation of final ASIC/ATO lodgements, monitor final GST refunds, cancel GST/PAYG registrations and close and archive Insol6 cases
  • Assist with discreet aspects of various project work relating to the Accounts Services function as needed

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' bookkeeping experience Bookkeeping qualifications highly regarded
  • Previous exposure to Insol6 / MYOB Insol Insolvency Management Software and/or Core IPS software highly regarded
  • Background working in a Professional Services firm highly regarded
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate Excel and Word skills
  • Motivated, with an ability to work with initiative and prioritise workload
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team setting
