THE OPPORTUNITY 


This is a truly exciting role that is at the forefront of innovation in Australia and sits at the intersection of open innovation, collaboration and co-creation. 


Working closely with the Head of Partnerships and key members of the Stone & Chalk Leadership Team, the role of Partnerships Manager is central to S&Cs ability to execute on being a true strategic innovation partner for its corporate and Government partners and sponsors. 


The Partnerships Manager will report to the Head of Partnerships and work closely with the state General Managers, Community and Events teams to provide a structured and systematic approach to designing and delivering specific innovation programs with and between Government, Corporates, Start-ups and Scale-ups.


The Partnerships Manager will have responsibility for ongoing engagement with Stone & Chalk partners, relationship management, leading the strategic planning and execution of the innovation services we provide to our partners and sponsors.


Specific program(s) may vary in format and duration and include:


· Best practice strategic advisory


· Board and Executive Coaching


· Innovation Challenges


· Incubating corporate teams


· Executive immersion sessions


· Problem-solving workshops


· Scouting, scanning and reporting


· Culture and capability assessment and strategy development


· Start-up readiness enablers program

Generally, start-ups are looking for flagship customers to help commercialise their propositions and/or the opportunity to rapidly scale.


Ultimately, by working with quality ventures, corporates/government can innovate faster, cheaper and better than they currently are and start-ups can rapidly accelerate the time to commercialisation and scaling. Hence, in this delivery role as Programs Manager for Stone & Chalk you will be acting as a vital ‘innovation bridge’ which hugely benefits both entities.


The partnerships team exists to support the success of the start-ups and scale-ups, but also to encourage enterprise to apply the emerging technology being developed which is highly relevant and can contribute to industry growth and success simultaneously.



YOUR BACKGROUND


You are a team player with excellent organisational and communication skills. Ideally you have a background in corporate innovation, start-up growth, account management or consulting, with experience gained in key areas such as project management, co-ordination, new product development, business development, digital, technology or innovation scouting, or culture and capability development.


You possess a keen appreciation of how emerging technology is disrupting many industries across the world, but insight into the Australian and state-based industries too. You also understand and appreciate both the need and the challenge of outside-in corporate innovation and have ideally also been involved with start-up-corporate collaboration in the past.


You ideally have an intimate understanding of the pitfalls of trying to innovate within a large, established organisation and can help advise, guide and ensure such organisations are sufficiently prepared to undertake these programs successfully, particularly when it comes to engaging with start-ups. You are passionate about problem-solving.


Overarching Mission:


Externally, act as an advisor, key point of contact and activator for multiple S&C strategic enterprise partners to deliver on planned deliverables for Stone & Chalk partnerships which will drive retention, renewals, adoption, partners satisfaction and growth. Importantly, the partner will see you as their regular touchpoint and key interface between the two organisations and any start-ups.


Internally, coordinate and activate the deliverables to meet the engagement plan for partners ensuring that outcomes are achieved and measured, identifying new opportunities for growth and development, managing relationships with other teams to ensure high-quality activation of the partnership.




Key Responsibilities


PARTNER ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT: Maintain a deep understanding of S&C services and value proposition. Create, refine annually and monitor a financially viable customer value proposition for each partner, and adjust as required to ensure competitiveness and relevance. Act as the relationship manager as key contact and conduit for opportunity identification and activation of agreed program for each partnership.


DRIVE ENGAGEMENT: Drive activity and engagement across the S&C partners network, ensuring they perceive the partnership’s value and are aware of the ways they can benefit from S&C.


CROSS-FUNCTIONAL DELIVERABLES: Lead the coordination and activation of partner deliverables working closely with other S&C teams to ensure deliverables for corporate partners occur smoothly across different hubs and areas of the business and provide insights for business development opportunities.


OVERALL PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Manage commitments and deliverables with partners, ensuring the engagement plans are clearly linked to S&C overall strategy and communicated across S&C hubs and teams.


MEASUREMENT: Understand the different ways S&C partners would like to engage the company and capture that in the engagement plans, in a way that can be clearly communicated to S&C partners and teams. Ensure all outcomes to be achieved through engagement plans are measurable and then measured and available as feedback and for continuous improvement.


CONNECTION WITH START-UPS: Connect S&C partners to resident startups and others in the S&C Impact Network to help solve their complex challenges. 


PROACTIVE SUPPORT: Become the partners’ voice at S&C, amplifying their success stories and providing feedback on how S&C can better deliver value to partners. Act as an escalation point to drive resolution in a timely, proactive manner.


PARTNERSHIP HEALTH MONITORING: Act as the key post-sales point of contact to drive and coordinate overall partnership engagement, to identify growth opportunities and potential risks within our partners’ network. 


FOSTER RELATIONSHIPS: Foster long-term business relationship with S&C partners and liaise with multiple stakeholders to help large organisations evolve their culture by innovating from the outside-in and support them in achieving great business value.



Skills / Qualifications:


· Exceptional project management skills, communication and strong business acumen.


· Reliable and trustworthy demeanour, able to build rapport to build strong relationships over time.


· Experience in account management desirable


· Experience in senior stakeholder / client relationship management


· Experience analysing data trends and client information to identify process improvement initiatives and growth opportunities.


· Strong presentation skills, both online and in person.


· Organised and reliable: able to work independently with little direction when necessary. Ability to problem solve and resolve partners’ issues.


· Experience or training in Corporate Innovation desirable.
