Our premium Golf Course is looking for an Assistant Superintendent. In this role, you will assist our Golf Course Superintendent with preparing and maintaining the golf course greens and garden areas. Your role will undertake turf and garden maintenance and landscape construction duties.

About the Role

• Live on Hamilton Island and commute 7 minutes by ferry to the Golf Course
• Training and supervising of staff 
• Supervise and maintain all course fairways, tees, greens, rough and semi rough areas. Renovate any worn and damaged turf
• Apply fertilizers as directed by the supervisor, including maintaining a log of application
• Assist with course irrigation as directed
• Maintain oil, fuel and fluid levels for all types of grounds-keeping machinery on a daily basis
• Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge

About You

• Certificate 3 or Diploma in Horticulture - Sports Turf Management 
• Open drivers licence
• Chemical spraying certificate or licence. Experience and knowledge of chemical and fertiliser application
• Have a sound knowledge of irrigation systems, repairs and diagnosis. (experience with Rain Bird decoder irrigation systems would be beneficial)
• Previous experiencein the Turf industry or in a similar role will be an advantage
• Ability to schedule and supervise work to achieve the most efficicient utilisation of employees and equipment
• Display a proactive attitude towards Workplace Health and Safety
• Extensive machinery use and safe operation related to this industry 
• Self-motivated and punctual with the ability to work and lead under pressure
• Good communication and leadership skills
